I currently work as a Program Advisor at IES Abroad, a non-profit organization that provides study abroad and internship opportunities for students from over 200 universities. As a Program Advisor, I serve as the main predeparture contact for applicants and admitted students, communicating and proactively advising students about program expectations, answering questions, and ensuring students meet pre-enrollment deadlines across 9 different programs. In this role, I am also responsible for cross-department communication, keeping stakeholders informed of significant updates or important changes relating to my assigned programs. My responsibilities also include advising students on visa requirements, and contributing to cyclical updates of program information across various resources including promotional, reference, and web content. I assist with development and maintenance of student pre-departure information materials to help students prepare for success, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records for key aspects of assigned programs including admission requirements, host university contacts, departmental and registration restrictions, housing and insurance, dates and deadlines, fee changes, and visa application processes.
