Ms. Weeks is a member of the Applied Watershed Science section at the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department. As a contributing scientist, Ms. Weeks is responsible for designing, conducting, and implementing research projects to better understand Austin’s various creeks, rivers, lakes, aquifers, and other surface or groundwater environments. This includes project management activities, as well as literature review, field sampling and surveying, statistical analysis, and rigorous quality control of field collected data. Specific software skills related to this position includes the use of R studio statistical programming language and ArcPro for spatial data analysis. In addition, this position requires routine monitoring of water quality and biological assessments to maintain regulatory compliance, as well as identify ecosystem management issues throughout the greater Austin metropolitan area.
