As a Business Change Analyst within Severn Trent\'s Customer Operations – Water Networks team, I lead the development and evolution of statistical consumption models used in regulatory reporting and performance tracking for Leakage, Per Capita Consumption (PCC), and Business Demand. My work directly supports one of the company’s most critical objectives: reducing demand for clean water to meet environmental commitments and customer expectations.Key contributions:Spearheading advanced modelling of household and non-household water consumption using smart meter data, including night usage and unmeasured consumption estimates.Driving digital transformation by collaborating with the Data Science team to manage pipelines from Data Lake to modelling environments, with a long-term goal of fully internalizing the analytics capability.Supporting national efforts to improve demand management by participating in cross-industry working groups on smart metering.Generating actionable insights from complex datasets, identifying performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, and influencing stakeholders to implement sustainable, data-driven changes.Leading business case development and project managing change initiatives that optimise smart meter data use and reporting accuracy.Enhancing organisational understanding of meter technology, performance accuracy, and water balance components through training, insight sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.Tools and techniques used include: advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas), statistical analysis, coding (SQL/Python), smart meter platforms, and data engineering best practices.This role allows me to integrate data science, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning to deliver real environmental and business value.
