Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.•Independently run and manage payroll operations for the entire transportation team, including all drivers, ensuring proper pay rates, hours, and compliance with DOT-related pay guidelines.•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws.•Manage the company’s workers’ compensation program, including claims administration, reporting, and coordination with insurance providers to ensure timely and accurate case resolution•Manage and optimize payroll systems and tools to ensure effectiveness, reliability, and data security.•Supervise payroll staff by providing training, support, and regular performance evaluations to promote continuous improvement.•Foster a collaborative, efficient, and accountable team environment within the payroll department.•Prepare and file all payroll-related tax documents, including payroll tax reports, W-2s, and 1099s, in accordance with deadlines.•Conduct routine payroll audits to ensure accuracy, prevent discrepancies, and identify areas for process improvement.•Partner with HR to ensure accurate input of employee data related to compensation, benefits, and deductions.•Collaborate with the finance department on payroll budgets, forecasts, and reconciliations.•Respond to and resolve payroll-related inquiries in coordination with HR to ensure employee satisfaction and compliance.•Continuously analyze and refine payroll workflows to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.•Proactively research and implement emerging payroll trends, technologies, and best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.•Maintain thorough payroll documentation in compliance with internal policies and legal standards.•Oversee data entry integrity and document retention procedures to support audits and internal controls.
