About Kaylee Bashor

Hi there, I\'m Kaylee! I am a Resident in Marriage & Family Therapy and Resident in Counseling. I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families adjusting to aging life transitions, cognitive change, long-term illnesses, medical trauma, caregiver burnout, and grief.I am a Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the International NeuroPalliative Care Society (INPCS). I received my Bachelor\'s Degree in Cognitive & Behavioral Neuroscience from UC San Diego back in June of 2020. I have an extensive background in neuroscience research from UC San Diego, the VA, and Vanderbilt University.I am very passionate about serving people with neurodegenerative diseases due to my personal family experiences with Parkinson\'s Disease Dementia, ALS, Frontotemporal Dementia, and Vascular Dementia. In college, I created a multi-faceted student organization, the Neurodegenerative Disease Awareness Association (NDAA), to help inspire students like me to give back to those with various neurodegenerative diseases. NDAA focused on disseminating research, providing networking opportunities for students, providing neuroscience education to underprivileged high school students in the area, serving at non-profit events (e.g, Alzheimer\'s Association, ALS Association, Parkinson\'s Foundation, etc.), and fundraising for these non-profits. NDAA continues to be a strong organization at UC San Diego, and they even hold a yearly online conference involving neurodegenerative disease researchers nationwide.In my community, I have served as the Moving Day Chair for the Parkinson\'s Foundation\'s Mid-Atlantic chapter. Prior to this position, I served as the PD Revolution Chair for the Parkinson\'s Foundation\'s TN/KY chapter, as well as an instructional volunteer for the PD Rock Steady Boxing program.
