About Kayla Ary
Kayla Ary is a Junior Dewitt Dean’s Scholar and Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program student at Spelman College. Studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a double minor in African Diaspora Studies and Economics, she is pursuing a public service career where she can advocate for racial justice and economic equity through civil rights law, criminal defense, and urban policy. Kayla is searching for community-facing opportunities within law and government that allow her to complete research on the socioeconomic issues present in these communities. Kayla is involved in several service-based and professional development organizations, such as Sisters Keeping it Real Through Service, Inc.(miniSKIRTS mentor), the Spelman College Chapter of the NAACP (Second Vice President), the Morehouse-Spelman Prelaw Society, the Morehouse Moot Court Team, and the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute with the Spelman Social Justice Program. She is experienced in writing, project management, and research and analysis, with skills in mentorship, leadership, and collaboration.
