ABOUT KAYLA ANDERSON

I am a passionate scientist and public health leader with 15 years of experience in maternal and child health, mental and behavioral health, and injury and violence prevention. My expertise is across the public health model: from developing and scaling national data systems, to conducting research studies, to implementing and evaluating public health programs and policies, to supporting states, communities, and other partners use and develop data-driven insights to improve health - I love it all. Key Achievements:* Designed and/or oversaw implementation and evaluation of large-scale public health programs in collaboration with partners, with total expected funding >$55M over funding periods.* Successfully advocated and competed for >$13.5M in discretionary funds, with a 100% success rate.* Designed, built, and scaled integrated data systems and analytic reporting to support data-driven decision-making at international, national, state, and local levels in emergencies (COVID-19, Vaping-Associated Lung Injury, Zika virus) and ongoing public health practice (mental health, adverse and positive childhood experiences).* Productive scientist with more than 50 publications and over citations.* Engaging, dynamic speaker with more than 125 talks to diverse audiences.* Devoted mentor and supervisor, with experience leading large, diverse teams.
