ABOUT KAYLA PETERSEN VORSTER
Passionate about fostering equity, community engagement, and conflict resolution through collaboration. I believe we are best equipped to address social issues when we work together in meaningful partnership. My experiences working in multi-sector collaboration have taught me the power of effective communication, humility, and transparency - values I hope to cultivate as a lifelong learner. My current roles with SAFE Santa Barbara County and Kingdom Causes, Inc.(KCI) focus on coordinating countywide partners to address human trafficking in our community. In partnership with theSB County Human Trafficking Task Force, KCI has developed and is implementing a 3-year Strategic Plan to address trafficking in SB County. SAFE SB County exists to gather support for the work of the Strategic Plan and support the numerous individuals and agencies committed to the fight against trafficking and exploitation in Santa Barbara County. I work with Phronesis Network to provide support for our community-based problem-solving efforts, assisting in research, interviewing, and engaging invested parties so that change reflects the voice of the community.
