People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” - Maya Angelou Hearing this quote from Maya Angelou in the 5th grade during Black History Month, I never would’ve thought that it would be the quote that would grow into my personal mission of what kind of impression I want to have with people, but also the kind of legacy I want to leave in this world. Hi My name is Kayla Long and I am a fourth-year, transfer student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a Marketing Concentration at the amazing California State University of Fullerton. Now that we got the ‘professional introduction’ out of the way… Hi, my name is Kayla, I was a Polynesian dancer for 8 years and I traveled to Tahiti twice to compete and perform. I played Varsity D1 tennis for 3 years in Highschool and in my senior year I was co-captain and also won the ‘Spirit Award’. I love playing Tennis and going on walks. My favorite activity is to go bowling with friends and will not hesitate to take the microphone during karaoke to sing “ I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor. Now that my hobbies have been discussed… Hi, my name is Kayla, and I want to make a difference in this world. We all have multiple identities and different hats we put on in different situations. But what is our why? I believe that we all (whether we realize it or not) have a reason or motivation behind everything we do. My reason is that I want to connect with people and create a space of understanding and appreciation with others. To accomplish my personal mission, I chose to concentrate on Marketing as I believe It will give me the necessary knowledge and skills needed to accomplish my goals. I am looking to connect with a company that has values that align with mine and has a desire to nurture and help grow the minds of future business leaders.
