In coordination with the existing network of voting rights organizations in Ohio, develop and implement effective strategies to expand access to the ballot and respond to needless and discriminatory obstacles to voting• Oversaw a $160K budget for the 2020 Election Cycle focused on ensuring Ohioans had equal access to the ballot during a global pandemic• Identify a group of target cities and counties for strategic programming• Track changes to election administration in key areas, and develop an assessment of the implications of these changes, particularly for historically disenfranchised communities• Work with AVL communications team to develop a communications strategy and incorporate effective messaging into the strategy• Work with AVL data director to ensure that strategy is data-driven and metrics oriented• Build relationships with state and local election officials; and engage and coordinate advocates and volunteers on the ground, to support and expand the capacity of the existing voting rights community• Support the development of national and cross-state strategies to protect the right to vote• Represent All Voting is Local within the civil rights community in your state, and to the media

ABOUT KAYLA GRIFFIN
Kayla Griffin is the State Director for All Voting in Local Ohio. In this role, she joins a network of voting rights advocates across the country to ensure that the administration of elections is free and fair for all voters, regardless of their race or zip code. Within the state, she works to advance democracy and accountability on the state and local level. With a background in law and policy, Kayla advocates for voter rights and election protection as a board member for the Norman S. Minor Bar Association and the Cleveland Branch of the NAACP. Kayla holds a Juris Doctorate and a Masters of Public Administration from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor’s of Public Communication from Kent State University.
