ABOUT KAYLA ABOUNEHME

Hi, I’m Kayla! I’m a trilingual public servant with interests in government communications and policy. In addition to receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2018, I also hold a dual Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Ottawa and l\'Université catholique de Louvain in Belgium. Beyond my effective communication skills in English an French (SLE: French language profile), I’m also an experienced professional with key skills in writing, strategic communications, and social media. I\'m currently a Senior Communications Analyst at the Privy Council Office, where I research, draft, coordinate, and deliver communications products for the Prime Minister of Canada. Previously, I was a Communications Advisor at Transport Canada, where I collaborated with a team of colleagues to meet the strategic communication objectives of the Marine and Oceans Protection Plan division. Within this role, I also led on crisis communications efforts under Transport Canada\'s COVID-19 recovery team. On top of my experience in producing written and visual communication products for a variety of clients and audiences—including the United Nations, the Privy Council Office, and the Prime Minister\'s Office—I\'m also capable of working in an independent, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment consistent with an everchanging media landscape.
