ABOUT JESSE KAYE

I am a clinical, behavioral, and data scientist with a passion for transforming data-driven insights from rigorous research into actionable outcomes to improve well-being and public health.Clinical Expertise: I am a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in evidence-based assessment and treatment of broad range of mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions. I have a particular interest in treatment of tobacco, alcohol, and other substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Licensed Psychologist, State of Wisconsin.Research Methodology: I have advanced training and expertise in clinical trials, psychopharmacology, experimental design, survey administration/analysis, human laboratory studies, psychophysiology, neuroscience, psychometric evaluation, scale development/validation, and mobile smartphone surveys.Data Science: I am a data scientist with expertise in data cleaning, data visualization, and data analysis (R/RStudio, MATLAB, SPSS).Grant Writing: I have served in key scientific roles writing grants to successfully secure approximately $2 million in research funding from federal (e.g, National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation), extramural state (e.g, WI Department of Health Services), and intramural (e.g, University of Wisconsin) sources.Science Communication: Published >30 peer-reviewed articles in top tier academic journals. Chaired symposium and presented research talks or posters at over 40 local, national, and international research conferences.Teaching: I regularly lead educational trainings for higher education, healthcare, and public health audiences on topics related to assessment and treatment of tobacco, alcohol, and other substance use disorders. I co-developed and was the lab instructor a PhD/graduate course in statistics and data analysis (R/RStudio).
