About Kathryn Hastings Collier
I am an artist, writer, and entrepreneur dedicated to reviving the art of letter writing and wax seals as living rituals of beauty, connection, and meaning. Through my studio, Kathryn Hastings & Co, I have transformed wax seals from craft to fine art, creating heirloom-quality works that collectors, writers, and creatives around the world cherish.My practice bridges history and modern life. I draw inspiration from 18th- and 19th-century traditions, antique seals, and the language of flowers, reimagining these symbols with a contemporary sensibility. Each piece I create is not only an object of beauty but also a tool for reflection and communication.In addition to my studio work, I host the One Sealed Letter podcast, where I explore the historical, cultural, and deeply personal role of letters. I also teach courses, lead salons and retreats, and cultivate communities that bring together collectors, writers, and artists who value intentionality and creative ritual.My work has been featured on the cover of Victoria magazine and in The Art of Correspondence. Beyond recognition, my goal is to make the experience of beauty accessible—to create spaces and objects that slow us down, invite us to reflect, and remind us of what endures.At heart, I believe that luxury is not about excess, but about attention, presence, and artistry. As an artist and founder, I create objects and experiences that revive the art of letter writing and bring beauty, leisure, and ritual into modern life. Through Kathryn Hastings & Co, I design heirloom-quality tools such as the Hastings Étui, collectible “pennies,” and custom sealing waxes, all inspired by history, floriography, and antique symbolism.Beyond my studio, I teach courses, host creative salons, and lead a global community of collectors and writers. I also share the history and philosophy of correspondence on my podcast, One Sealed Letter.At the core of my work is a simple belief: even the smallest gestures—like sealing a letter—can create connection and make life more beautiful.
