SCARCE (School And Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) is a nonprofit organization that works with schools, businesses and community organizations to provide environmental education programs reaching children through adults. SCARCE also operates a Book Rescue to divert much needed resources from the landfill and provide those resources for schools and non-profits in need in both our local community and internationally. To date, our Book Rescue has redistributed over 5 million books to schools and non-profits in need and has diverted millions more from the landfill through our book recycling program.Our Mission: Inspire people, through education, to preserve & care for the Earth\'s natural resources, while working to build sustainable communities.
