About Kay Mather

Kay is a nationally certified Human Resources professional and currently serves as Senior Director, Human Resources at Rho providing strategic and tactical HR guidance to leaders and employees. She is a Human Resources executive with 20+ years of experience in a multitude of industries including professional sports and entertainment, publication, manufacturing, technology, and HR consulting. Kay has extensive experience managing strategic and tactical HR functions for several organizations during the start-up and growth phases as well guiding company leaders and employees through workforce changes, including mergers and acquisitions as well as reductions in force. Kay’s areas of HR management have included developing HR strategies to align with business needs, payroll, recruiting, employee relations, compensation, workers compensation, benefits, intern programs, immigration, reduction-in-force processes, on-boarding, as well as administrative/facility functions for mid-to-large size organizations. Former roles have involved the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures as well as providing strategic HR guidance to executive management. She has served on several boards of directors, including Community Health Services, Charlotte Area Society for Human Resources Managers, Stratford Richardson YMCA. and was a member of the steering committee for Y Achievers, a Greater Charlotte YMCA/Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools initiative to increase the CMS graduation rates. Currently, she is member of the Triangle Society of Human Resources Managers and North Carolina SHRM leadership teams. Kay is a graduate of Leadership Charlotte, Class 27, Leadership Triangle and a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), a national organization.
