About Kavin Pillai

I’m a geopolitical and policy analyst with a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Tokyo (GraSPP), working at the intersection of international development and consulting. My academic and professional experience spans policy research, market research, geopolitical analysis, media studies, and strategy-oriented project work across public, private, and multilateral contexts, with a particular focus on Asia. I’m particularly interested in bringing my holistic and strategic insights into consulting and analyst roles that involve project appraisals and stakeholder engagement within multilateral institutions and multinational corporations.I’ve worked on projects involving renewable energy infrastructure, public–private partnerships, and supply chain and business intelligence analysis, including capstone projects with Bain & Company and the Asian Development Bank. Alongside this, I’ve contributed to policy research for Indian think tanks and an American defence forum and participated in international policy forums and multilateral dialogues such as the WEF Summit in Tokyo. I’m especially interested in how public and private initiatives are accelerated or affected by political economy and how climate considerations shape development and business outcomes.I was awarded the MEXT Scholarship by the Government of Japan, and I was also selected as a Doha Debates Ambassador (2021) and a Millennium Fellow under the Millennium Campus Network in association with the United Nations Academic Impact. In addition, I am a GPPN Winner (2023) and I\'m majorly involved in sports and other co-curriculars.
