About Kaveh Sadeghian

Hi there — my name is Kaveh. I spend a lot of time at the nexus of learning science, innovation, and embodiment. My work centers on designing learning strategies that are rigorous, relational, and grounded in the richness of our collective identities and experiences. As a queer, ADHD-addled only child of refugees, I’ve benefited first-hand from teaching as an act of love — a transformative process that nurtures not just knowledge, but also courage, community, and care. That ethos has shaped my entire career. I am the Director of Learning Innovation and Strategy at the Project Management Institute (PMI), a global nonprofit working to improve the world through project success. I am also the co-founder of Blacksmiths, a learning design consultancy specializing in participatory, trauma-informed learning experiences. Over the past 15 years, I’ve collaborated with mission-driven partners across academia, government, corporate, nonprofit, and grassroots movements — leading learning strategy at edX, co-founding the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Social Impact Strategy, and designing programs for the Obama Foundation, Figma, the Aspen Institute, and others. All in all, the programs I\'ve helped shape have reached over a million learners to date— a scale that still surprises me and keeps me honest about the stakes of this work.Otherwise, I reside and usually in Colorado, preferably in a hot spring.
