About Kavan Sheth
As a Graduate Research Assistant at Clemson University, I worked on synthesizing and characterizing bio-based polymers and composites, aiming to create sustainable and high-performance materials for various applications. One of my projects involved developing hybrid nanocellulose fillers for biodegradable polymer (PHBV). Other projects focused on functionalized lignin oil for condensation polymer synthesis, employing green synthetic chemistry techniques to synthesize unsaturated polyester thermosets and semi-aromatic polyamide thermoplastics.My previous research experiences include creating solar thermal and hard coatings using physical vapor deposition at National Aerospace Laboratories and fabricating perovskite solar cells at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in India. I have a dual degree in Chemistry and Manufacturing Engineering from BITS Pilani, India, where I gained a strong foundation in both disciplines. My core competencies include polymer science, material characterization, coatings, and green chemistry. I am passionate about finding innovative solutions for environmental and energy challenges.
