Most documentation tells engineers what a function does. The best documentation shows them what they can build with it.That philosophy has shaped my 7+ years at MathWorks, leading documentation strategy and execution across four wireless communication toolboxes — Bluetooth, WLAN, 5G, and Communication. The Bluetooth Toolbox documentation was built from scratch — documentation architecture, every API reference, tutorial, conceptual guide, and the production-ready MATLAB examples that research students and engineers still rely on years later. More recently, led the team that launched the Wireless Network Toolbox — MathWorks\' newest wireless product — coordinating across engineering, UX, QE, and marketing to take it from an empty content plan to a complete documentation suite, shipped on schedule. Today, that work continues through a team of 4 writers, roadmaps spanning all four toolboxes, and the scope and prioritization trade-offs that keep documentation delivery synchronized with Agile engineering releases. The foundation for all of it is a Ph.D. in wireless communication systems and six years of research in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks — 5 published papers and a patent — which is what makes it possible to sit in an API design review, follow what the engineering team is building, and translate it into content a first-time user can actually follow.A lesson that keeps proving itself: great documentation is never just writing. It\'s part engineering, part teaching, and part product thinking. That conviction drives ongoing work with Docs-as-Code workflows, SEO-oriented content structure, and Generative AI — exploring what genuinely improves documentation quality, not just what speeds it up. And it\'s why documentation standards matter — so every page a team ships meets the same quality threshold, regardless of who authored it.Documentation is a product, not an afterthought. It deserves its own architecture, its own quality standards, its own iteration cycles, and leaders who treat it that way.
