About Kaushik Seshadri
Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try\"I thrive in ambiguity, transforming complex energy storage projects from concept to execution while helping deliver on optimized procurement strategies to save tens of millions of dollars. With expertise in project engineering, interconnection implementation with Utility/ISO, commissioning support, direct procurement of batteries, PCS skids and other major balance of plant equipment, I enable cost effective solutions that maximize project returns and success; ensure seamless execution while maintaining strong counterparty relationships with multiple stakeholders. My leadership philosophy is rooted in ownership and accountability, eliminating inefficiencies, ensuring seamless execution, even in lean teams. In my current role at Gridstor, I continue to lead and execute on procurement/project strategies that resulted in multi-million-dollar cost savings, took ownership of non-integrated BESS solutions, mitigating technical risks and optimizing project economics, managed complex stakeholder relationships, ensuring smooth execution, worked cross-functionally to accelerate project timelines, support financing etc. The career vision is to provide leadership to the storage and renewables industry, collaborate with forward-thinking entities and mentor people.Skills: Technical Risk Mitigation & De-Risking, Leadership in Lean Teams & Rapid Execution, Direct Procurement (Batteries, PCS, MPTs), Stakeholder & Counterparty management, Handling Ambiguity, Self-Motivating, Team Building, Servant-LeaderInterests: Energy Storage Technology Roadmap, Techno-Commercial Strategy, Long Duration Storage.Previously, a Sr. Development Engineer at RWE where I acted as subject matter expert on Battery Storage for projects from Origination to Financial Investment Decision. Other responsibilities included technical due diligence on major equipment (Batteries, Inverters, BoP), equipment procurement and EPC procurement support.Prior to that I was a Battery Energy Storage Technical Lead at RRC Power & Energy, where I helped build the storage function with the VP of engineering resulting in >2GWh of engineering work with OEMs, integrators, EPCs and Developers. The work also provided exposure to Solar and on-shore Wind Re-power engineering designs. Prior to that within Black and Veatch\'s global Energy/Water business, been involved in Power System Design in Expanded Scope (EPC) Projects (Combined Cycle Plants, AQCS Retrofits, Cogeneration) & Small EPC projects (Grid-Scale Battery Storage plus Solar).
