Currently a robotics researcher under Prof. Shankar Sastry and Dr. Allen Yang, developing the perception stack for autonomous Indycars that compete at speeds exceeding 170 MPH in both time-trial and multi-car racing events the team lead for a 10-member perception team, I am responsible for the overall architecture of the perception stack, prioritizing robustness and high performance within compute-constrained environments. Beyond the broader design, I am deeply involved in the development and deployment of its individual components, including novel learning-based sensor fusion (LiDAR, radar, camera, and GPS); YOLOv8 pointcloud projection; LiDAR deep learning; robust EKF-based tracking; and custom sensor extrinsics calibration using automatic multimodal feature detection.
