ABOUT KAUSHIK SUNDAR
I embarked on my medical journey with undergraduate training in Bangalore, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine in Chennai. My fascination with neurosciences led me to pursue a DM in Neurology, where I was honored as the Best Outgoing Student.Drawn to the frontiers of Vascular Neurology and endovascular interventions in Acute Stroke, I undertook a Fellowship in Stroke and Neurointervention at Rajagiri Hospital, Kochi. To complement my clinical expertise with leadership skills, I completed a Senior Healthcare Management program at IIM Kozhikode. I also hold the European Diploma in Neurointervention (EDNI), further strengthening my international credentials in stroke and neurovascular care.Currently, I serve as Clinical Lead for Comprehensive Stroke and Interventional Services across the Eastern Cluster of NH Hospitals, where I focus on:Developing thrombectomy-ready stroke centers.Implementing spoke-and-hub stroke models to improve access and quality.Establishing and overseeing advanced interventional neurology units.Beyond clinical leadership, I contribute to shaping the next generation of neurologists as Academic Head for Neurology, and I guide institutional standards as a Governance Council Lead. I also serve as Faculty for the Neurointerventional Program and as a Member of the Institutional Research Committee, advancing both education and evidence-based practice.Alongside medicine, I am deeply engaged as an author, currently working on projects that explore two major domains:Healthcare — examining how systems, leadership, and patient experience can be transformed.Human identity — blending neuroscience and narrative to understand how needs, cognition, and awareness shape who we are.My unique blend of neurovascular expertise, academic mentorship, governance leadership, and authorship enables me to drive innovation in stroke care, elevate healthcare systems, and contribute to broader conversations at the intersection of medicine, leadership, and human identity.
