ABOUT RAVNEET KAUR

As an individual with a strong desire to learn and a passion for helping others, I aspire on becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Being a fourth-year accounting student in the Sheridan’s Bachelor of Business Administration program, I have developed a solid foundation of applying Canadian GAAP and Accounting standards. In addition, I have learned the basic accounting skills including preparing the financial statements in accordance with IFRS and ASPE. With 3 years of relevant academic experience in accounting, I have developed the skills to record journal entries and present the accounting information in an organized and understandable manner. My passion to make new connections and building relationships has always helped me throughout my journey. My position as CPA Ontario Board of Ambassador allowed me to further develop my interpersonal skills as I connected with various students from different backgrounds. The unique tasks allowed me to develop on creative problem solving and critical thinking skills. Being a member of the Post-Secondary Ambassador Program (PSAP) by the CPA Ontario has provided me with many opportunities to prepare myself for the real world of business. I have learnt that accounting profession is not just about numbers, but about building relations and providing a duty to the community and the environment we live in. As a volunteer member of the Sheridan’s Mission Zero club, I am learning to protect and create awareness about protecting the environment. Living in a community with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds has taught me to respect everyone and everything around us. With all the steps that I take every day towards my career, I come to know about various opportunities to develop and grow. My curiosity to learn makes me creative and imaginative. I plan on achieving such a place in society that will help me bring a positive change through the power of influence.
