About Katya Pope

As a Product Manager, I thrive in a position sitting between the worlds of business and technology, working across teams to find solutions to difficult problems. I embrace the idea of failing fast, and encourage and push teams to deliver the best possible product while they also continue to learn and grow. I appreciate learning, experimenting, and evolving and a career that continues to present me with opportunities to learn and grow. As a product manager, I have often served as the guinea pig - testing out a new process, tool, or product - which I find both challenging and rewarding. That same passion for continual growth extends into promoting diversity in STEM. I look for ways to give back and work within my community to expose young women to STEM subjects, including volunteering at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History where we regularly celebrate girls in science. I have also participated in discussion panels representing women in tech, and I\'ve served as a leader on DEI committees, actively pushing for further inclusion and equity within teams. What else should you know? • Strong knowledge of Agile SDLC, including scrum and kanban • Organizational and leadership skills to improve cross-functional communications and increase the number of successful products delivered on-time • Communication and listening - identify the customers\' needs and translate them into user stories for development, subsequently follow up to confirm product releases and lead training sessions for new features • Command of the roadmap process - from OKRs and quarterly planning, to requirements management, through production testing and retrospectives to encourage continual improvement
