About Katya Gorecki
I\'m a researcher passionate about bringing Cultural Studies into UX research - situating individual human experience within the systems and institutions they shape. My PhD in 2020 on media studies, video games, and VR examined how games expressed longstanding beliefs about media and reality. It\'s conclusions, as well as my teaching and side projects in design and community organizing, led me to pursue applied research as a UXR at mission-driven organizations that seek to improve outcomes by centering the communities they serve.
