Senior Producer, February 2005 – October 2013Responsible for the pre-production, live execution, and editorial direction of Weekday, the daily two-hour morning show on KUOW Public Radio, NPR Seattle. Acted as assignment editor and guide for Producers and Interns, while encouraging them to grow and explore. Provided consistent and friendly council to the host, while acting as his main public liaison. • Extensive experience researching and booking guests, conducting pre-interviews and on-air interviews, framing topics, as well as constructing and editing live or taped interviews and features.• Skilled director. Able to multitask efficiently while making phone calls, engaging with guests, instructing call-screeners, answering questions, and providing the host with a solid safety net. • Creative and experienced tape editor. Able to blend difficult sounds, hide hard cuts, and edit voices seamlessly. Live radio demands a calm leader.Fill-In Host, Weekday, January 2011 – October 2013 Responsible for hosting a two-hour daily morning news program when requested, often on short notice and for weeks at a time. • Conducted long and short form interviews, moderated a panel of guests, engaged on-air with listeners, created features from pre-taped interviews, and worked in the field to gather sound-rich exploratory interviews. • Able to sound prepared and knowledgeable and at the same time friendly and youthful.
