Hello! My name is Katy Jackson. I am an Interior Designer at Perkins & Will. I am focusing on Sports, Recreation and Entertainment design and I am absolutely loving it! I can\'t imagine a more exciting project type then to design a venue where people from all backgrounds get together to cheer on their favorite team, listen to their favorite artist, or workout and play to enrich their lives. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Interior Architecture and Design program at Colorado State University in December 2021. I received my first degree in Sports Medicine in 2011 and worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant for a few years followed by nine years working as an Administrative Assistant, and eventually an Office Manager in the Statistics Department at Colorado State University. My decision to return to school to follow my true passion of design was the most impactful decision I have ever made. I firmly believe that I was born to practice interior design and my multi-disciplinary background has helped me to become the successful designer I am today. To me, practicing interior design is not work, but play! I have a great passion for making beautiful, creative, and functional spaces to be enjoyed by all. I am so excited to learn and grow into my career as a professional Interior Designer.My design philosophy is inspired by the Balinese culture of Rwa Bhineda, which means balance. This philosophy reflects my ability to be flexible and to look at design problems from every perspective to create thoughtful, functional, and beautiful design solutions. My designs are a balance between artistic beauty and technical skill. They are creative, and exciting yet disciplined, and sophisticated. I strive to accomplish beauty and excellence in every facet of my designs, from the initial creative process through the development and production of the final presentations.
