ABOUT KATY CANTY

My role as an Assistant Manager within the Financial Reporting team is primarily to prepare accounts for clients in a variety of industries that are above the audit threshold, with a focus on clients utilising UK GAAP standards. This includes preparing small and large consolidations for corporate clients, as well as preparing accounts for audited charities. I also manage a small portfolio of clients and am actively involved in the development of newer members of the team.I completed 3.5 years in the Insight Advisory Team where I prepared accounts, VAT returns and tax computations for clients under the audit threshold. In this team, I specialised in preparing accounts for charities and personal investment companies however I worked with a wide range of clients from sole traders to small corporates.I achieved a 1st class Accounting, Business Finance and Management degree from the University of York, where I achieved the highest average mark during my second year, and was the President of the Business and Management Society in my final year. In my current role I also have the responsibility of leading the relationship with the University of York and have organised in office Insight Days for students from a variety of backgrounds so they can gain an understanding of a workplace and what RSM can offer.I am also ACA qualified, having achieved 15 first time passes, being a regional prizewinner in 5 of the Professional and Advanced Level exams.
