ABOUT KATSUMASA TANAKA
Katsumasa Tanaka works in the field of climate and environmental science and policy. His broad career goal is to integrate various scientific theories and knowledge including uncertainties to provide useful input to climate and environmental policymaking. His main research tool is a simplified Integrated Assessment model. His current research topics include future climate projections, climate mitigation policies, Paris Agreement targets, and greenhouse gas emission metrics. He is a “Make Our Planet Great Again” laureate hosted at LSCE, France and a tenured Senior Researcher at NIES, Japan. Previously, a prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship supported his two-year residence at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He received his education in Japan, US, and Germany and has a background in climate science, biogeochemistry, and applied math.
