As an employee-owned company Gripple is renowned for its distinctive culture, I’ve had the privilege of shaping and leading our People & Culture function from the ground up. Starting in export sales, I didn’t come from a traditional HR background—but I brought something more important: a deep understanding of what makes a great ‘Gripple person’ and innovative mindset.Recognising the power of culture in driving performance, I was entrusted with building a department that would support our people globally, responsible for recruitment, training and development, health and wellbeing, people services (\'HR\') and organisational and leadership development. Our approach is anything but conventional: we’ve effectively banned the term ‘HR’ to empower managers to take full ownership of their teams. As I often say, “If we hire the right people, treat them right and manage them right, there’s little need for ‘HR’ in the traditional sense.”I’m passionate about creating environments where people thrive, where values drive decisions, and where great leadership at all levels is a non-negotiable. My journey is proof that understanding people—and the culture they work in—is the most powerful tool in any organisation.
