ABOUT KATRINA PHILOPOULOS

With over 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership, I am a Certified Health Executive passionate about fostering collaboration and driving innovative solutions. As the Director of Physician Recruitment at Nova Scotia Health, I provide strategic leadership and operational coordination for province-wide physician recruitment efforts. Over the past three years, my initiatives have successfully resulted in recruiting over 540 physicians, with more than 30% being International Medical Graduates.I oversee a large, dedicated team focused on executing our Physician Recruitment Strategy, developing partnerships with physicians and operational leaders, and collaborating with communities to address the healthcare needs of Nova Scotians. My journey in healthcare began in clinical practice as a physiotherapist and progressed into leadership roles in Occupational Health, Safety, and Wellness, including provincial lead positions.
