ABOUT KATRINA LEMON
Nā tō rourou nā taku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi. With your food basket and my food basket, together we will thrive. A passionate relational, and culturally responsive educator/advisor with expertise in curriculum, assessment, moderation and evaluation in both the Tertiary and Secondary sectors. Passionate about te ao Māori and working towards Mana Ōrite. Research interests are located in the fields of: Indigenous and Māori studies; Kaupapa Māori and critical theories; cultural responsive pedagogy; relational and responsive inclusion; cultural relationships for responsive pedagogy; and philosophy (metaphysics and existentialism). Completed Master of Education (Hons.)(1st class) in 2017. Masters thesis question: In what ways do the perceptions of connectedness of Māori students in alternative education secondary schools affect their self-efficacy within the learning environment? He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata! He tangata! He tangata! What is the most important thing in this world? People! People! People!
