ABOUT KATRINA KOSTIC SAMEN

Over three decades of experience in commercial development and interior architecture make Katrina uniquely qualified to provide strategic design advice and innovation in the real estate industry. Katrina established KKS Strategy in 2004, and as a practice, it quickly became a recognised leader in the built environment, both in the UK and internationally. KKS joined the Savills group of companies in 2019 to become KKS Savills. Katrina is currently the Head of Workplace Strategy & Design, connecting all disciplines on a global platform with KKS’s unique advisory service lines to create a centre of excellence and design flair to set Savills apart. With total commitment and absolute passion, Katrina focuses on the best interests of the occupier, their business and solving problems – always from an inside-out perspective. She challenges boundaries and perceptions, connects human-centric design philosophies, and combines strategy and the built environment to maximise real estate potential for both occupiers and developers. Twenty of Katrina’s projects have been shortlisted for BCO Awards over the past four years. Other accolades include the Henry Pugh Award recognising achievements and contributions in the built environment and Best Woman Interior Architect at the Women in Construction & Engineering Awards 2019. In the same year, Katrina was a finalist in the Female Leader category at the Building Awards, won Inspirational Leader of the Year at the BCO NextGen Awards and was listed on BISNOW’s ‘46 Women in Real Estate Who Crushed It In 2019′. She advocates for women in real estate, construction and architecture, ensuring that diversity, equality and inclusion are high on the agenda, and promoting Next Gen through BCO mentorship and KKS Savills work experience programme. Katrina speaks regularly on best practices for innovation and design, development of technical criteria for the built environment and workplace strategy. Speaking engagements have included BBC Radio 4, CNN & Harvard Business School. She has been elected to the BCO Board for the last 12 years and was the BCO President in 2018/2019 leading change within the organisation; she is currently Chair of the Work Expert panel for New London Architecture (NLA) informing the Mayor’s new London plan. The KKS Savills fundamental principle is: Be Creative, Add Value, Have Fun!
