ABOUT KATLEEN WOUTERS

I am a seasoned executive with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture from K.U. Leuven (1998), and over two decades of experience in the telecom and infrastructure sectors.My career began at Unisource Belgium, where I gained foundational expertise in telephony, data communication, wireless networks, and operational services. I spent the next ten years in operational and managerial roles at KPN Belgium and KPN Network Construction, overseeing fixed and mobile networks as well as data center operations. This period shaped my deep understanding of complex network environments and large-scale infrastructure delivery.In 2009, I transitioned to commercial leadership at VolkerWessels Telecom Belgium, where I led marketing and sales initiatives for engineering and construction services within the telecom domain.Since 2015, I’ve held several leadership roles at Telenet, starting with the establishment of the Aftercare organization within the HFC Build department. From 2018 onward, I led the Fiber Solutions and Support team, driving operational excellence and supporting the company’s fiber ambitions.In July 2023, I joined Wyre, a newly formed infrastructure company uniting the coax and fiber networks of Fluvius and Telenet, where I am head of HFC Boost & Shared Delivery Services.We enable all delivery teams at Wyre to roll-out or upgrade networks in the most efficient way. Next to that, we are responsible for the design, coordination, and execution of capacity projects, network improvements, and relocations related to the Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) network.I am passionate about building high-performing teams, enabling digital transformation, and delivering future-proof connectivity solutions that support Belgium’s evolving infrastructure needs.
