About Kati Obrien

I love to create a vision and bring it to life. My specialty lies in dreaming of big ideas, breaking them down into manageable pieces, and removing obstacles. I use Inclusive leadership to empower others through trusted delegation. I believe that through chaos there is opportunity thus I capitalize on my ability to bring order and structure using my positive demeanor to drive teamwork.In the past 20 years, I have served as an operational or \"behind the scenes\" person. The divisions or companies I have worked for have been within a start-up phase of development. While my career path has not been linear, the heart of each role has been. In each position, I was asked to develop or re-engineer a department. This includes researching best practices, identifying and working with Subject Matter Experts internally and externally, developing policies and procedures, selecting and developing a team, creating 3-year plans, and stabilizing the department and team to then hand it over to someone else to manage. In addition, at both Geneva and Charles River, while I was regularly asked to develop a new department there were always a couple of departments that did not leave my supervision giving me the ability to drive growth and maintain continuous improvements. When asked what I would like to be remembered for it would be that I shared my knowledge with others so that they could be successful and empowered. Also, I would like to be remembered for just being kind.
