About Katie Shealy
I’m allergic to boxes. The kind people try to put you in, not the cardboard ones. That’s why I’ve built a career around blending passions: public relations, sustainability, creative storytelling and environmental advocacy. Growing up on a farm taught me how to notice the details and the small but vital role each creature plays in a bigger system. That sense of awareness, paired with the fact that people were few and far between, shaped me into a communicator. When you grow up talking to everyone (and everything) around you, you learn quickly that connection is everything. That love of connection carried me into communications. First through art, photography and writing, and now through PR and strategic storytelling. I’ve worked with everyone from extreme sports athletes to county commissioners, learning how to translate complex ideas into conversations people actually want to join. What I love most is bridging worlds: policy and people, creativity and strategy, sustainability and everyday life. At my core, I’m a storyteller for change. My goal is to use communications as a tool to make sustainability accessible, to give a voice to causes and communities that are often overlooked and to inspire real action. Whether I’m writing a press release, crafting a campaign, or sparking a conversation, I approach it with curiosity, adaptability and a little humor (because saving the world shouldn’t always feel so heavy).
