ABOUT KATIE KRUMMECK

I am a social impact designer - in other words, I am an educator, an innovator, a problem-solver and a designer of learning experiences, tools & resources, and systems & ideas. I help schools and organizations change the way they work together to ask questions, solve problems and drive innovation in complex human environments.I practice human-centered design and draw from experiences in a wide array of settings to develop and scale community-driven solutions to difficult problems. I create educational programming that matches my belief in the power of hands-on, real world learning to inspire students to solve complex problems and feel empowered to make the world a better place. I have lead design teams to tackle diverse projects such as reimagining a PreK-12 school schedule and the use of time as an instructional tool, creating systems to allow a large, urban school district to abolish suspensions and expulsions and redesigning the experience of administering a polling place during the pandemic. I have also coached school leaders, educators, non-profit leaders, and corporate executives to develop their design mindsets and the capacity to leverage design to drive innovation.
