About Katie Wu
I am a PhD Candidate writing a dissertation on the history of reparation movements in the late 19th century United States. I am passionate about the intersection between history and justice-seeking work through exhibits, historic sites, and community-based archiving. At the University of Virginia, I teach undergrad courses on U.S. immigration history, African American history, and Asian American studies. With skills in oral history interviewing, research, project management, and exhibit development, I would be eager to connect about public-facing history projects in the Virginia/DC area. My academic work is supported by the Smithsonian Institution, the Society of Fellows, the American Society of Legal Historians, the John L. Nau Center for Civil War History, and the U.S. Law and Race Initiative.
