I am a multifaceted professional with a dynamic career spanning law, entrepreneurship, and the arts. My journey began in law school, where I founded an industry-disrupting software startup. For seven years, I successfully ran this venture while practicing law, ultimately selling it to a private equity firm. This unique experience as an entrepreneur before becoming a lawyer allows me to advise my clients from the perspective of a business owner and operator first.My legal career has been focused on commercial real estate, finance, and business law. I represent a diverse array of real estate clients covering all asset types—from data centers to multifamily to big box retail—in acquisitions, dispositions, real estate finance, leasing, and development. I also have specialized experience representing entertainment industry clients, including studios, music venues, film schools, performance venues, creative co-working spaces, restaurants, and bars, addressing their unique business and real estate needs. Additionally, I have expertise in navigating film tax credits and other incentives across the US. I am deeply involved with Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA), a nonprofit providing pro bono legal and accounting services to Texas artists, arts nonprofits, and innovators. My passion for the arts and firsthand business experience enable me to bridge the gap between the creative and business communities.I recently ventured into film production and co-founded The January July Company, combining my entrepreneurial spirit, legal expertise, and love for the arts. We have several film projects and other creative ventures in development.
