Medical Aid in Dying Program Coordinator @Denver Health

The Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) Program Coordinator is responsible for guiding the patient and their loved ones from the initial inquiry to death and even through bereavement needs in regards to the Denver Health Medical Aid in Dying program- Complete bio-psychosocial assessment of each inquiring party, including evaluation of eligibility for Medical Aid in Dying- Coordinate scheduling in EPIC with patients and MAiD physicians- Responsible for confirmation and review of necessary documents uploaded medical records prior to initial visit- Offer psychosocial support to patients and families related to MAiD process throughout appointments and post-death-Provide virtual or in-person support on MAiD ingestion days- Responsible for keeping forms current on the Denver Health internal and external websites- Participates in developing educational programs for local hospice agencies, cancer centers, individual physicians, and Denver Health providers- Responsible for collecting and recording data related to MAiD patients for future research and publication- Liaison between Denver Health and American Clinicians Academy on Medical Aid in Dying- Provide outreach as needed to surviving family members within a month of patient death- Offer individual bereavement support and develop group bereavement services-Host monthly virtual support groups for loved ones of patients who have utilized MAiD- Other duties as delegated by the director of MAiD program.
