About Katie Regner
I am an Employee / Internal Communications Manager / Director with 10 years of experience in creating engaging internal communications strategies and campaigns to drive employee engagement and alignment within a Fortune 50 brand. I’m known for strong writing skills, focus on employee experience, and providing strategic counsel to senior executives on how to communicate and engage with their employee base. I began my career in Public Relations / Media Relations roles, but found my true passion in the Communications field when I joined Verizon’s Employee Communications team in 2014. In the decade since, I have delivered impactful communications strategies for leaders and teams, crafting leadership messages, planning high-visibility meetings and events, and providing strategic counsel that enhanced engagement and alignment across the organization. During my time on the Employee Communications team, I spent four years as a producer and on-camera host for Verizon’s daily news program, Up To Speed, a video update distributed to employees daily to keep them informed on the major news and events happening within the company. In this capacity, I managed the editorial calendar for the program, drafted scripts, coordinated remote segments from contributing employee reporters, and interacted regularly with the most senior executives of the company. In 2020, I took the opportunity to get a bit closer to the business, while continuing to support employee engagement initiatives when I took on a Business Operations / Chief of Staff role within Verizon Business, the company’s B2B segment, first for the office of the CEO and then, the CFO/Head of Strategy. These roles allowed me to develop business acumen, have a seat at the table with senior leaders on a regular basis, and provide strategic counsel to executives as they took on new roles and worked to build their own leadership brands internally. These roles also gave me experience in smaller team communication and engagement, as a complement to the enterprise-level work in my previous role. In my most recent position, I also gained experience as a people leader. I’m a creative storyteller, the grammar guru colleagues regularly ask to review their work, possess strong organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail, and look forward to connecting.
