Katie is a Trainee Solicitor at Shoosmiths, currently undertaking her third seat in the firm’s Competition team. She previously completed her second seat in the Commercial division, focusing on complex contracting (both B2B and B2C within the firms dedicated consumer law team) and her first seat on secondment at Mercedes-Benz UK, where she gained valuable in-house experience and insight into the automotive sector. Katie is also a member of the firm’s Mobility, Logistics and Manufacturing sector interest group.Before starting her training contract, Katie worked as a paralegal specialising in non-contentious commercial matters, including B2B and B2C contracts within a dedicated consumer law team. She also undertook secondments and contributed to legal resourcing projects for several major household brands and FTSE 100 companies. Through this work, Katie developed sector-specific expertise in retail, hospitality, and automotive/mobility.In addition, Katie is trained in Shoosmiths’ AI contract review platform, CIA®, and has experience in leveraging legal technology to improve efficiency and client service.
