About Katie Parkinson
I have a passion for translating data into intelligible, actionable insights and over 15 years experience delivering impactful solutions through evaluation.Outside of work, I am an avid beekeeper and enjoy sharing my knowledge of these complex, venomous pets with the community. With the emergence of Electric Vehicles, I enjoy applying behavioral science to create compelling program designs and incentive structures that encourage EV adoption, educate customers on their new impact on the grid, and shift charging times to increase grid stability. Because of my evaluation background, I ensure my program designs create justifiable savings to support evaluation and policy needs. I teach a popular electric vehicle load management training to expand industry knowledge of this new and growing field, and co-chair the Electrification Transportation Interest Group for the Peak Load Management Association, helping to curate and present timely insights on electric vehicle grid impacts and emerging load management strategies. As Project Director at Apex Analytics, I have been actively managing and planning evaluations for dozens of utility energy-efficiency programs across the country. My projects cover a wide variety of utilities and tasks ― large and small utilities, public utility commissions, gas and electric services, staff advising, evaluation oversight, and evaluation implementation. Prior to joining Apex, I was an associate at the Cadmus Group, where I was responsible for the day-to-day management of three single family and multifamily programs within the 20••••08 Residential Retrofit project for the California Public Utility Commission.
