ABOUT KATIE MCCREATH

I joined the Serious Fraud department at Frisby & Co in early 2006. I obtained a BA Honours in Law & Business in 2005.I commenced criminal casework somewhat thrown in at the deep end with my first case.a murder, followed by a raft of complex financial cases, whilst studying my LPC. I commenced my training contract within Serious & Business Crime. In 2009 I became the Head of Confiscation & Restraints, heading a small department, which I developed into the largest & most successful Confiscation defence team in the Country.I went on to qualify as Higher Courts Advocate in 2010. In 2012, I took my place on the board of Directors, which was an exciting opportunity to further develop our place in the Criminal defence market,sharing the General Management with co-director Mr Cook. I continue to deal with all aspects of Serious Crime defence;MTIC Frauds,Car Insurance Frauds,People Trafficking,Trade Mark,Money Laundering,Drugs,Murders,Appeals,High Profile & High Value Confiscations My department deals with all elements of restraint & confiscation, from instigation to enforcement, in the Magistrates Court, the Crown Court & the High Court. The department has been involved in some of the largest & most high profile confiscation matters in the country, from Magistrates Court Enforcement to the Court of Appeal, all of which I have conduct of. RvC C\'s benefit figure [B] was reduced by £200m to - upheld by The CoA in 2014 RvC 3 x S23 POCA 2002 apps for a Certificate of Decrease by RvB B of reduced to £12,500 RvC;One of the largest MTIC Frauds seen,B of £85m, reduced to £10m, available[AA]£2.6m & £2.8m 28 day default term! RvR AA £1.8m,reduced to RvT;B [hidden assets]reduced to AA RvU;acted as Counsel.B to £1,448 RvA;Defended and prevented receivers appointment RvF;Successfully quashed RvC;B £18m (hidden assets) AA reduced to and B to £5m RvD;Arguments forced crown to formally discontinue
