ABOUT KATIE MCCONVILLE
I am a Policy Counsel barred in the District of Columbia seeking opportunities to combine my passion for law and the intersections of race, technology, law, and public policy. I am dedicated to promoting social equity within our criminal legal system, and am interested in how legal frameworks can assist in the development of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in promoting societal welfare rather than exacerbating existing inequities. I am also curious about the role of AI governance and legal institutions in strengthening the rule of law and promoting algorithmic fairness and accountability.I am driven by a commitment to the rule of law and social justice. I am always looking for opportunities to collaborate with individuals, researchers, policymakers, and institutions to develop intersectional and evidence-based approaches to combatting inequities in our legal systems and creating the legal infrastructure needed for a more just and resilient technological future. Aspects of professional work that I enjoy include: public speaking, researching, legal writing, policy analysis, and teamwork. A few of my personal interests include: administrative law, public interest law, constitutional law, civil rights, environmental law, racial justice, gender justice, prisoner rights, social policy, space exploration, birding, and podcasts. I enjoy soaking up information on a variety of subjects, and will never turn down the chance to explore a piqued interest.
