ABOUT KATIE LAWLESS

I hate my bedroom fan. Since the day we purchased it, I have never been able to use its remote correctly. The buttons make no sense, and finding the right one in the dark is a complete guessing game. Ever since I was little, I have had a passion for art and creativity, but I struggled to find a place where I could connect my artistic needs to my passion for making people smile. That was until I found UX design. Now I know that things like my dumb, stupid, annoying fan controller don\'t have to be so mind-numbingly infuriating. At one point I thought that UX would be all new apps, and being the next Steve Jobs and yada yada. But really, it often brings me back to my days teaching children with special needs. Some of those days were challenging, but getting to see the pure joy on the kids\' faces as they overcame obstacles and accomplished things many would take for granted filled me with unbelievable joy. It really is the little things that matter most. Today, my goal is to craft experiences that bring a smile to people\'s faces. I\'m on a mission to solve problems and make every day a little brighter. UX design allows me to translate my passion for positive impact into tangible, user-centred solutions. Through intuitive, useful, and enjoyable experiences, I aim to simplify life\'s complexities and bring a sense of joy and ease to people\'s lives. Design, to me, is not just a profession—it\'s a way of life. It\'s about shaping everyday experiences in a way that delights and inspires, making even the smallest interactions memorable and meaningful.
