In this role I support the success of First 5 LA\'s strategic communications and campaign development. Working to reach parents of young children, stakeholders and the general public with critical messages related to the needs of young children and their families, informed by social science research. This includes communicating about the importance of fostering multilingualism in young children, why nurturing children is a collective responsibility, and why systemic racism serves as a significant barrier to the health and well being of children and families. Work has included co-leading a multimillion dollar public education campaign in six languages, guiding our social media work, and maintaining relationships with key early childhood reporters. Additionally, I produce a bi-weekly news \"skim\" that highlights news, reports, events and social media trends relevant for early childhood advocates.
