ABOUT KATIE FERNANDEZ

I’m a community impact senior specialist at Comcast, passionate about corporate social responsibility (CSR), bridging the digital divide and using technology to create positive social change. My background spans public relations, web & app development and UX design and I use these skills to build solutions that connect people and enhance digital access.In addition to my role, I serve as the marketing communication co-lead on the Women’s Network ERG leadership board and am part of Comcast’s Accelerate Leadership Program, where I advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion within the workplace and beyond.With nearly 4 years of combined experience in external affairs, business management, and digital marketing, I’ve led 15+ cross-functional projects and managed logistics for high-profile events, working alongside divisional leadership, national partners, elected officials and community organizations. These experiences have strengthened my ability to navigate complex projects and deliver results that benefit both the business and the community.I’ve also had the opportunity to plan and execute over 50 volunteer events, coordinating 850+ volunteers to drive employee engagement and make a real impact in our communities. These initiatives have helped build a culture of giving and brought employees together for a common cause.I’m currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Emerging Media at the University of Georgia, where I’m diving into web & app development, graphic design and brand identity. I expect to graduate in May 2026.In March 2023, I founded Katie’s Arm Kandy, a small business selling handcrafted bracelets. So far, I’ve made more than 530 sales, gained 25+ repeat customers and reached 346 cities nationwide. This journey has helped me build skills in e-commerce, customer relationship management and digital marketing, all while fueling my creativity and passion for community engagement.I’m always open to connecting with others who share my commitment to social impact, leadership and digital innovation.
