Established by the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce, the SW Career Pathway Support Network is one of 7 regional networks established to support, expand, and maintain educational pathways from middle and high school career technical programs to postsecondary for early college credit and employment opportunities. The SW CPSN encompasses Butler, Warren, Hamilton, Clermont and Brown Counties, while also serving districts in Fayette, Highland, and Clinton Counties. Guided by a regional steering committee and in partnership with Career-Technical Planning Districts, workforce partners, postsecondary institutions, and community stakeholders, the Southwest CPSN works to: •Expand access to career-technical education in the middle grades (7–10) through professional learning, technical assistance, and local action planning with districts. •Strengthen career advising and mentoring by supporting district advising plans, facilitating professional learning, and building mentoring pathways with business and industry partners through job shadowing, work-based learning, and cooperative placements. •Lead regional planning for career-connected learning aligned to workforce demand, including analyzing labor market data, developing a regional plan, supporting Perkins V needs assessments, and assisting districts with CTE pathway development, articulation agreements, and CTE-26 applications. •Build and sustain partnerships between education, business, and community partners to support new CTE instructors and administrators through professional learning, resource sharing, and collaboration with ODEW and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
