About Katie Kathryn Baker
I\'m a firm believer that as scientists, we are responsible not only for helping improve life for our neighbors, but for sharing what we learn and making science accessible to all. I\'ve worked in both industry and academia since receiving my B.S. in molecular biology from UC San Diego in 2011. In 2018 I received my PhD at the University of Washington in the Department of Pathology as part of the Molecular Medicine and Mechanisms of Disease (M3D) program. I completed my postdoctoral work at Oregon Health and Science University\'s Knight Cancer Institute in the Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research (CEDAR) group. I began my career as an Oncology Medical Science Liaison at Natera Inc. in 2021. In 2023 I joined the medical affairs team at Kyowa Kirin, and have recently joined Foundation Medicine. My education, work experience, and family have enriched my interest in human disease, specifically in cancer genetics. I\'m also passionate about science outreach and communication.
